Founder
The person who started Buddhism was named Siddhartha Gautama. He was a prince of a tribe called Sakya in Nepal at 566bc approximately. Siddhartha was an indian spiritual teacher. Siddhartha retired from being a prince at the age of 29. Six years later he settled under a bodhi tree, and that was what inspired him to be a teacher.
